{% extends 'core/Vulnerable and Outdated Components/VulnerableOutdated.html' %} {% load static %}
Vulnerable and Outdated components are referred to as open-source or proprietary code that contains vulnerabilities, is outdated, or is no longer maintained. These include OS, servers, libraries, runtime environments, database management systems, and other components. This type of code is usually implemented with very little or no regard for security. With expanding systems, checking, maintaining, and updating your project libraries and dependencies is necessary. Some older components are well-known for vulnerabilities, and companies that don't check for updates are at huge risk. Attackers can use these vulnerabilities to get into the system or at least make the attack easier. As almost all applications use libraries or some other type of supporting open-source code, it is indisputable developers should be careful with their picks and always check first before picking.
